With the advent of Netflix, Redbox, cable, DVD Players, flat screen TV’s and home theaters, we have learned that we can bring the movies to our home rather than having to go out and pay for tickets.
But it’s not the same.
If you have kids, get a babysitter. Pick out a movie that is rated at least PG, get in the car and drive to the theater.
There is something magical about walking up to the ticket window and buying your tickets and then having the ticket taker rip them in half and direct you to a theater.
After you get your tickets, you MUST go to the concession stand. YES, it is insanely overpriced and may cost you more than the tickets…but you are paying for an experience that you can’t get at home, so do it up!
Buy a bucket of popcorn and a drink. If you want one of those huge boxes of candy then do it!
Sit down in the comfy seat…watch the previews, enjoy your movie and eat popcorn until you can’t possibly eat any more.
Movies offer an escape, but when you watch them in a theater with other people in a dark room…you are literally transported. You aren’t thinking about the laundry or listening to cars drive by outside. You are on a mini-holiday.

Have fun!
